Friendship Day at NAC!
Supportive Community.
Our supportive community is one of the most valued aspects of the international experience at New America College. Students and staff at New America College got together to celebrate Friendship Day on Wednesday, February 13th. The event was held to celebrate the positive relationships that have been created within our school, both in and outside of the classroom. Everyone in the NAC family participated in creating a “Friendship Tree” decorated with hand-made Valentine’s ornaments. The tree is now proudly on display in our 5th floor student lounge, spreading good vibes!
Positive Relationships.
Students also participated in “speed dating” activities, where partners were paired up together in order to get to know each other better through informal conversation topics.
International Experience.
Evening class students were treated to a wonderful acoustic guitar concert of traditional African songs by Amani Didier Bwale, a student from Congo in the TOEFL class.
“One of the songs I chose to play was “Le Bonheur” which means happiness, and it’s about believing that sometimes we need to give small things to people to make them feel happy. Sometimes it’s good to just give someone a smile and say hello.”
-Amani Didier Bwale, Congo
“The Friendship Day party was lit! People were enjoying different kinds of food, live music, and fun conversations with other students. I wish we had more parties like this!”
-Azamat Sattorov, Tajikistan
“I’m so lucky because I met nice and friendly people at NAC. The directors are helpful and the teachers are amazing and funny! They know how to merge knowledge with a sense of humor! Most of all, the students are all lovely people!”
-Souheil Sherif, Libya
“A best friend is someone who brings out the best in you.”
-Israel Muwawa, Congo
“I like the community at NAC because all of the students are so nice and the teachers always do their very best to help students!!”
-Janjao Rewcharoenrattanakul, Thailand
